The director also confirmed that his upcoming version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea will be shot in 3-D. Fincher says that Leagues could potentially be his next project after he finishes his highly anticipated adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. "I think it's cool … when it's done right," Fincher said of 3-D filmmaking. Fincher also shared plenty of insight into his creative process, specifically his famous penchant for doing dozens of takes of every shot. "If I'm going to make people do it that many times, they got to know that if they give me something great, it's going to be there," he said. "To me, the idea is to free people up. I want the mistakes. I want the thing that they do when they are caught not thinking about what they're supposed to be doing."
