Due to changes in manufacturing, fans will have to wait an additional three weeks to get their hands on a piece of history.

Put together by Media Coordinator Davin Perry and EWU athletics, "The Road to the National Championship" documentary allows fans to live, or relive, the Eastern football team's magical run to the national championship.

The product was originally set to release Monday, Feb. 21, but was pushed back to March 14.

"Originally, the thought was we could maybe do the DVDs in-house since we can burn them and label them," said Perry. "But then we decided to outsource them for a more professional packaging."

The documentary contains approximately an hour of footage, ranging from the unveiling of The Inferno to the thrilling victory over Montana to the final seconds in Frisco, Texas, and the hoisting of the national championship trophy.

"[The documentary] is going to start off with a nontraditional start to an extraordinary season," Perry said. "As we got deeper into the playoffs, we realized this [season] was turning into something special."

Those who purchase the documentary will also be able to view interviews with coaches, players and media, as well as never before seen footage and a behind the scenes look at the team.

EWU football play-by-play commentator Larry Weir has seen a lot of Eagle football games over his 20 years with EWU athletics. This season was no different as he had a chance to witness the journey from the beginning and conduct the interviews for the documentary.

"I think it's huge for the athletic department," said Weir. "I will be getting one, that is for sure. It's going to a great keepsake. For anyone that had anything to do with the season … fan, player, family, coach. … It's just going to be a wonderful keepsake to have."

Joining Weir are 155 others who have already sent in their pre-order forms to the athletics department. And the orders aren't slowing down.

"We get more in every day," said Perry, who used some of his own funds to produce the feature. "Hopefully they keep coming in."

Those interested in ordering the product can stop by Perry's office located in room 207 of the PHASE. The DVD version runs $40, while a Blu-Ray copy costs $60. Both versions include the 2010 season highlights package. Put together every year, the highlight video provides fans with the greatest plays and unbelievable feats over the course of the season.

The season highlights can be purchased individually for $20 and are only available on DVD.

Order forms can also be filled out online at http://www.goeags.com/store/FB-DVDOrderForm.pdf. The trailer can be seen on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwElNCr3G5U.
