| 'Hit King' Signs Autographs, Promotes DVD Release Posted: 22 Feb 2011 12:05 PM PST POSTED: 2:55 pm EST February 22, 2011 LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Pete Rose is in town signing autographs as he promotes the DVD release of "4192: Crowning Of The Hit King."Kevin Richards, of Fairfield Township, made sure he was first in line Tuesday morning to meet the Reds legend at Kroger in Liberty Township."To meet him in person has always been a goal of mine, so here I am," Richards said. "I loved watching him play, (and) on kid glove games, I'd go to Cincinnati to watch games and it was the time of my life, and he's always been my biggest baseball hero."Rose also signed autographs Tuesday afternoon at Kroger in Harrison and will sign more Tuesday morning at Kroger in Newport."I can remember when my daughter was a baby and holding her in September of '85 and when he hit 4,192, and Pete gave me many memories throughout my life," said Mary Kay Nugent, of Fairfield Township.Fans began lining up at 3:30 a.m. for a chance to meet Rose, although they got only a few seconds with their idol."To actually meet him, regardless of the wait, and what I went through, which was no big deal, it was great," Richards said.
