'Toy Story 3' Blu-ray/DVD hits Nov. 2

"Toy Story 3" has become the No. 1 animated movie of all time. It's also Disney's second-biggest movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" being the biggest. The movie will gets its Blu-ray/DVD release Nov. 2, which also lets it conveniently be in the front of the minds of awards voters.

The company was one of the leaders of the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, so it's no surprise that that format will be available, as well as simply the Blu-ray and DVD formats (and of course the digital copy). The extras will have games and such for kids, but there's also a lot for Pixar geeks, including a series of amusing animated anecdotes about life at Pixar. (One sees "Toy Story 3" animators shaving their heads to mark the start of the film, another an animator finding a hidden room at the company.)

One feature available only on Blu-ray that looks cool is a little tutorial by screenwriter Michael Arndt, who wrote "Toy Story 3," analyzing successful opening scenes from "Toy Story," "Finding Nemo" and "The Incredibles."

Coming out at the same is a "Toy Box" collection, which has all three "Toy Story" movies.

This, combined with "Sleeping Beauty" coming out in the fall on Blu-ray for the first time, may take sales of Disney's home entertainment division this season to infinity and beyond. (Someone had to say it.)
